A fairy tale from the tough music business. Without ever aspiring to step onto a stage, Naima Joris taught herself the basics of guitar and piano at the age of 27; just enough to play and sing the covers she loved at home. Her voice was bewitching, and before long she was selected to sing along with the Isbells and Raymond Van het Groenewoud. From her attic room, she captured the hearts of many lonely listeners during the harsh days of the coronavirus pandemic. Now she goes on tour with guitarist Vitja Pauwels, performing the covers with which she made her breakthrough. From well-known - and lesser-known - Southern European traditional songs and French chansons, to English songs in a new guise.
