The Portuguese singer Magda Mendes followed the westerly wind until she finally came to rest in Rotterdam. A journey that took in the beaches of the Algarve, the cork trees of the Alentejo, the alleys of Lisbon from which the fado sounds out, the olive trees of her father, and the mountains of the North. She wrote her account in colourful songs, and takes you on a musical journey through Portugal with Ward Veenstra. Mendes’ voice is fragile, soft, yet bursting with passion.
